Solo piano can bring a simple elegance to any event. Kathy's skills in many styles of music have made her invaluable to clients for many years. Classical, jazz, ambient, show tunes, pop, or whatever your event requires, Kathy will present it with style and in a way that accentuates your event instead of distracting from it. Repertoire is extensive, so please consult with Kathy about music you would prefer at the event.
She has performed in countless weddings & high profile events in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne over the past 20 years and has been able to exceed the needs of some very demanding clients. It is always preferable to perform on a grand piano at the venue but Kathy can also provide a quality portable piano for those venues without a piano on site.

Kathy grew up in Toowoomba, playing piano at an early age - studied with Brachi Tilles, originally from Tel Aviv, who arrived in Queensland in the late seventies - straight from studies in Vienna. Then, a move to Melbourne under the guiding hand of Stephen McIntyre and Roy Shepherd at the Victorian College of the Arts, completing a degree in Chamber Music and Accompaniment.
A love of all styles of music was evident in teen years in Queensland, Kathys' first solo piano gigs in Restaurants and Clubs began whilst still at high school - and then continued with two residencies when moving to Victoria - playing for High Tea at the Windsor Hotel and three afternoons a week at Menzies at Rialto in the courtyard Portego Bar. Over twenty years professional piano work has led to many interesting and varied jobs over the years.
Currently working as a freelance pianist & keyboardist in Brisbane - at the Queensland Conservatorium, Southbank Institute & University Music Dept as an accompanist - teaching at Stuartholme School, Brisbane Boys' & Girls' Grammar Schools.
Memorable performances have been on the Vatican Organ and as pianist for a master class with legendary violinist Maxim Vengerov.
Highlights have included backing - Frank Sinatra - Liberace - Dionne Warwick - Grace Knight (on the violin - Kathys' second instrument). She enjoys working in the commercial music scene both with many years spent in Latin bands, such as "Havana" and "Sabrosa", crossover group "Barocka"and Jazz bands such as "The Barry Sutton Trio".
At the moment her function band “The Bazkatz” and piano and bass duo "Amica" with bass player, Bryan Pearson keep her busy. Most recent theatre work includes - "Dusty" "Miss Saigon", "Phantom of the Opera", and "Mamma Mia".
Kathy has been lucky enough to join the ranks of the Queensland Pops Orchestra as resident pianist for the past four years, and has performed with contemporary classical group "Topology" and the Queensland Orchestra recently.
