Craig has a strong musical background having performed with many original and cover bands in his late teens and early twenties. He developed throughout this time a keen interest in musical theatre and finally realised his ambition of performing in a big budget production, when he was offered a role in Bill Kenwright's West End production of “Ferry 'cross the Mersey”, starring alongside merseybeat legend Gerry Marsden.
More theatre roles followed and Craig played other musical legends including John Lennon, Cliff Richard and Freddie Garrity.
Since exploding onto the Queensland music scene in 2010, Craig Martin and his Swing Bands have now performed at many top venues, including Twin Towns, Redland Performing Arts Centre, Jupiters Casino, The Broncos Leagues Club, Kedron-Wavell Services Club and Brisbane Jazz Club. He's been invited to perform as guest vocalist with The Brisbane Big Band and The Brisbane Symphonic Band and he was asked to perform at last years Redlands 'Christmas by Starlight' concert, performing with Jessica Mauboy!
This contemporary swing singer who has peformed with many of the UK's leading big bands, cleverly combines traditional and modern swing music with great flair and imagination. Craig is a natural on stage, a brilliant 'live' entertainer who performs many of his own arrangements with a style unique to him.
