WEDDING MUSIC SUGGESTIONS
CEREMONY
There are three main parts of the ceremony that require music: the processional, signing of the register and the recessional, and it’s also important to have music playing before and after the ceremony.
Processional:
Trumpet Voluntary - Jeremiah Clarke
Prelude to ‘Te Deum’ - Marc Antoine Charpentier
Canon in D - Johannes Pachelbel
Signing the register:
Ave Maria - Charles Gounod
Ave Maria - Franz Schubert
Jes Joy of Man's Desiring - J S Bach
Recessional:
Trumpet Tune - Henry Purcell
La Rejouissance - G F Handel
Weddding March - Felix Mendelssohn
RECEPTION
Music sets the atmosphere for your event - music will always make or break the night and most brides would agree that they want to dance the night away to their favourite tunes, whatever they may be. Your guests need to be considered also - so it is important to hire a band who can perform many styles of music. You may want to stick to a theme - say 1920's or a 60's flavour. As you are dealing direct with the musicians we are able to tailor the music to your tastes and the style of the event. If you are on a budget you might consider our cocktail duo "Amica" followed by a DJ.
Reception:
* Remember your guests will range in age, and music tastes, so choose a variety of music genres.
* Some of the most romantic tunes are the old ones. Think Louis Armstrong's A Wonderful World and Beatles' songs.
* Soundtracks to romantic comedies are good for fun and frivolous dancing. Think Notting Hill or My Best Friend's Wedding.
* Play your favourite song, even if it is a 1980s hit!
FIRST DANCE
A lot of couples like to choose their own song, but for those really struggling, Mood Music Entertainment can provide great suggestions. The important thing is that you choose a song with a good beat that you are comfortable dancing to.
Song choice is usually narrowed down after couples decide a dance style. Some couple have ‘their’ song, and it’s a wonderful idea to dance to a song that means something to you.
SUGGESTIONS:
Unforgettable, Nat King Cole (and Natalie Cole)
The Way You Look Tonight, Frank Sinatra
At Last!, Etta James
What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers
It Had to Be You - Harry Connick Jr (and others)
Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra
